We are a local family business operated by father Eric Schneider and son Joel Schneider who are passionate about all things coffee and tea. A couple of years ago, Eric had set up his prized La Marzocco in his basement, the espresso machine handmade in Florence since 1927. Since then, he had made countless cups of espresso drinks for his family and friends following the traditional and meticulous way of making espresso. Eric and Joel are excited to finally bring the La Marzocco to light and share their love of specialty coffees to the wider community.
Eric's wife Nancy grew up in Yunnan, China, a lush and beautiful mountainous area in the far southwest of the country. It is one of largest tea producing regions in the world, and it is believed to be the birthplace of tea. Its antique tea trees produce tea leaves that made Pu-erh, the exquisite and complex tea, the signature tea of Yunnan. Nancy's love of tea comes directly from her father who never fails to start his day with several cups of Yunnan's home grown tea.
The experience of growing up in a culture that is deeply steeped in tea tradition inspires Nancy's lifelong love of tea. More importantly, the many tranquil "tea moments" Nancy enjoyed has made her a firm believer that fine quality teas should be accessible to everyone who is open to the experience. Her selection of fine loose leaf teas is a testament of her devotion and respect to the artistry of tea.
Together, Eric, Joel and Nancy continue their commitment to providing a gathering place for the community at large that serves exceptional coffee drinks as well as tea. Each barista at Headrush is carefully trained, and some boasts years of coffee experience. All employee share a love of coffee and tea.
